Discovered in 2023 near the Tunisian oasis of Ksar Ghilane, this meteorite is one of the extremely rare unclustered achondrites. It contains minerals that have never been seen in any other meteorite before – including oldhamite and iron-rich augite. Its spectral signature is strikingly similar to the surface of Mercury. If it did not come directly from it, then from a planet that was very similar to it. The BepiColombo mission after 2026 will reveal more.
