Roy Lichtenstein (1923–1997, USA) gained worldwide fame with his comic-inspired paintings. His signature style includes large Ben-Day dots, bold lines, and bright colors reminiscent of printing techniques. By elevating trivial imagery to the status of fine art, Lichtenstein questioned originality, reproduction, and mass media. His works are among the most recognized symbols of Pop Art today.
